Meet our brilliant Creative Director, Geff Newland

Meet our brilliant Creative Director, Geff Newland. Geff studied Graphic Design at Art School and has (in his own words!), been designing bonkers stuff ever since.

We asked him a few nosey questions so that you can get to know the designer behind @byokits! The cool colours and designs of our products? That’s Geff’s awesome work!

★ What do you love most about designing for @byokits?
I love the diversity as we are always coming up with something different every single day.

★ What inspires you?
My daughter is a huge inspiration. I think of a new idea and wonder whether or not she would like to build and play with it – she’s a budding STEMgineer!

★ Favourite colour combo?
Turquoise and orange – you can probably tell that from the colours on the @byokits Paper Plane Launcher!

★ Best fuel for creativity?
For me it’s peppermint tea and bowl of Bombay mix!! (Obviously not mixed together).

★ When do you have your most creative ideas?
Sounds weird, but the shower is my thinking space. All my best idea come to me while I’m rubbing the shampoo out of my burning eyes!

Did you know that there is hidden writing on a £1

Did you know that there is hidden writing on a £1 coin? It’s there to help combat the production of counterfeit coins.

Under close inspection, you can see the words ‘one pound’ on the lower inside rim of the ‘heads’ side. Super cool!

This ‘micro lettering’ is tricky to see with the naked eye, but take a look at a £1 coin under a @byokits microscope and you’ll be amazed at the detail you can see!
